HBSA Wapenshaw competition

Two new competitions: the "Lucky Strike" and the "Herb Woodend Memorial Challenge"

The "Lucky Strike": 

  • This competition will consist of ten individually marker shots with a maximum time limit of ten minutes
  • Shots hitting a two-inch white square at the centre of a NRA 200 yard round bull target (14" diameter) will score five points, hits elsewhere on the black will score two points
  • Any pre-1946 rifle may be used: a sling and/or wrist rest is permitted

The "Herb Woodend Memorial Challenge": 

  • This competition requires the use of a clip or charger
  • There will be two one-minute exposures of a NRA 200 yard round-bull target with a central white square with a two-minute interval between them
  • Firers will start in the prone position with an unloaded rifle with the action closed
  • One appearance of the target, they will load one clip or charger of ammunition and open fire
  • When the target drops after one minute, firers will have two minutes to refill the clip or charger with ammunition
  • When the target re-appears, firers will load that clip or charger of ammunition and open fire
  • Targets will drop after one-minute
  • Shots hitting a two-inch white square at the centre will score five points, hits elsewhere on the black will score two points
  • Any pre-1946 charger-loading or clip-loading rifle may be used: a sling and/or wrist rest is permitted
