Last Saturday we had a successful shooting event with our guests, the
Western Front Association in the morning, and the Old Bill competition
in the afternoon. This was accompanied with the demonstration of the
trench firing device from the NRA museum, and a splendid display of WW1
related arms in the marquee enjoyed by all. Derek StimpsonThe event, organised by Rob Davidson, to whom thanks go from all of us, would not have been possible without the support and hard work of the range officers, coaches, the exhibition contributors, and those who did all the other myriad of support tasks. Amongst the team were David Frohnwieser, Glen, O'Sullivan, Rae Wills, Griff Elliott, Brian Kealy, Maurice Kanareck, Geoffrey Organ, Frank Rhodes, Tony Cattermole, Geoffrey Ormerod, Chris Smith. Apologies to anyone not named in the list and a big thank you to all of you. It was notable that many of the WFA guests, although familiar with the SMLE and other arms, had never handled or shot one, and they were delighted with the event. Thanks also to Bruce Simpson, the WFA Chairman, for his kind words at lunchtime. There are some pictures on the website which you may enjoy. With thanks and regards |
