4th April 2015 Historic Service Rifle Match (National Shooting Centre (NSC), Bisley)

posted 17 Dec 2014, 11:40 by Tony Cattermole   [ updated 16 Feb 2015, 03:00 ]
Following the successful trial event held in October 2014, we are staging another Historic SR Match on the afternoon of Saturday 4 April.

Entries to the trial event were overwhelmingly for British Service Rifles, thus for this match we are restricting the classes to British SR only in SR(a) and (Open).

The Course of Fire (CoF) is based on military practices with standard Fig 11 and Fig 12 targets, shooting from standing, kneeling, sitting and prone. There are no Run Downs included!

The HBSA and LERA have been involved in the development of the event, which has been scheduled the day before the final day of the 2014/15 Civ SR League. Competitors will meet at the 300x car park on Century at 13.10 for a mandatory Range Briefing, with the match shot in the afternoon only, followed by prize giving on range at around 17.30.

We hope owners of British historic Service Rifles will take up the challenge.

Details are on the entry form, which will follow shortly, and will include the Match Conditions and Definitions of Historic Service Rifle.
