Annual General Meeting - Saturday 24th September

AGMs are not the most exciting of events, but it is the annual occasion when the membership have an opportunity to support the people that make your association function. Whether your Council and volunteers receive plaudits or brickbats, it is an important excercise in democracy - please attend.

To encourage you to attend, we have a really interesting event planned for you at the Royal Gunpowder Mills, Waltham Abbey, Essex EN9 1JY. For centuries this historically important site supplied gunpowder, cordite and explosives to our military; after WW2 it specialised in rocket development. Extensive free parking on site.

  • 11.00 - 12.00 Paul Bristow from the Croix de Guerre and Dunkirk 1940 Museum will talk about the types, uses and limitations of the grenades used by the combatants in the Great War.
  • 12.00 - 13.00 Annual General Meeting - please attend
  • 13.00 - 13.45 Lunchtime - sandwiches, pannini, hot & cold drinks available in Cafe
  • 13.45 - 15.30 Volunteers will open the main Exhibition and Armoury, Rocket Vault, Women at War exhibition, and the 1940s Exhibition
  • 13.45 - 14.30 Group 1 of 20 members on guided road-train tour of the extensive site
  • 14.40 - 15.25 Group 2 of 20 members on guided road-train tour of the extensive site
