HBSA Long Range .22RF and Rook & Rabbit Competition - Sat 21 May 2016

posted 24 May 2016, 04:49 by Tony Cattermole   [ updated 24 May 2016, 04:50 ]
This new competition was originally planned to be fired at 200 yards, but had to be changed to 100 yards due to non availability of range space. This was to be an opportunity for those of our members who had never shot Rook Rifles or .22 rimfire at more than 50 yards to experience the effects of wind and rain !

13 members shot 27 cards, and a wide variety of rifles were used, both old and more modern, with classes for Centre-fire Miniature and Gallery rifles, Historic.22 and both iron sighted and optically sighted rifles.  See the Results here >>>>

The excellent markers supplied by Jim Stevens helped everyone get on target with their practice shots and sighters.

Thanks to Allan Kirk for organising this competition, which was judged to be ' a success' and will be repeated next year with an additional 200 yard distance. RCOs were Mike Townsend and others. There seems to have been some confusion as to the exact definition of the rifle classes in this competition. Next year, we will try to ensure that all entrants shoot in the correct class for the rifle they have entered !
