Dear Competitors

Thank you for competing in this year’s Long Range Championship Meeting for Vintage, Classic, Veteran and First Generation Rifles. Without your support these events would not take place. The Results can be viewed here >>>

The weather was very good for both the practice and competition days. I am told the wind was tricky on the Saturday and on Sunday the wind was hardly strong enough to move the flags, yet the official excuse for the day was “That must have been the Wind”, there was enough wind over the last 100 yards or so to cause some interesting scores and reactions.

Entries were down this year compared with last mainly due to holidays.

After a lot of sleepless nights we managed to secure our usual team of markers who provided an excellent service. Credit must go to the shooters this year we had almost no radio traffic regarding fall of shot etc. nearly everyone was on target first shot.

We had 19 individual shooters who managed to compete in 26 individual match entries. With entrants traveling long distances to compete, from North Wales, Yorkshire, Belgium, Warwickshire and even as far away as Surrey.

I must also congratulate all the marksmen who managed to miss the entire herd of Deer as they crossed the range.

HBSA prize certificates will be prepared and sent out ASAP. (Please be patient as I am about to go on holiday, my usual excuse)

I would very much like to thank all those who attended for their support and in particular: Mark Hodgins, Anthony Sims, Mick Kelly, Gary Shenton and Graham Robinson for their assistance as Range Conducting Officers.

I hope everyone had a good day and that we see you all next year.

Best Regards
Paul Smith

Please don’t forget that the Mid-Range will be held on Sunday 20th September.
