Stourport on Severn, Saturday 6th October 2018

Dear Competitors

Thank you for competing in this our 13th Annual Midland Rook and Rabbit competition.
See full Results here >>>>

We were once again privileged to be able to use the range at Stourport on Severn which is an excellent venue; it provides a covered firing point with plenty of room with a separate range for the muzzle loading match and is now fully equipped with 21st Century toilets.

I would very much like to thank the Committee and Members of Stourport on Severn Rifle club for allowing us the use of their range, and all those who attended for their continued support.

Unfortunately this year it rained all morning, but not only was it wet but it was cold and very dark. We only got wet whilst changing the targets but the cold seeped into everyone’s bones by the end of the day (the joys of the Great British Weather).

This year we attracted 19 entrants shooting 52 matches, unfortunately 2 entrants had to withdraw at the last minute.  All in all the meeting continues to be is very well supported.

Two members of The Stourport On Severn club volunteered to act RO and everything ran very smoothly.
In the absence of Mike and Linda the scoring was done by Phil Carter, Chris Gray and myself.

Tea Coffee and some excellent Cakes & biscuits from Mrs Boulton & Gray went down a treat.

Many thanks to all those who attended and helped out during the day.

I hope everyone had a good day and that we see you all next year

We plan to hold a Rook & Reindeer shoot in December 2018 (probably 15th) with all proceeds going to the McMillan Fund. Confirmed date and details to follow but make a note in your diary.

Best Regards
Paul Smith
