Members will be interested to see the following Press release from BSSC.

The change in expanding ammunition law will be a boon to those who shoot collect and shoot historic sporting rifles but don’t stalk. As members will also be aware there has been considerable input from HBSA on the subject of “antiques” in the proposed Act.

More will follow as and when we can release it.

The British Shooting Sports Council supports the Government amendments to the Policing and Crime Bill, published on Monday, regarding the return of expanding ammunition to Section 1 status and the extension of the validity of firearm and shotgun certificates during the renewal process, if required. The BSSC is most grateful for the considerable efforts made by the Minister, the Rt Hon Brandon Lewis, and by Geoffrey Clifton-Brown MP and its member Associations in achieving these important additions to the Bill. The BSSC also hopes that further improvements can be achieved at Report stage.
