Shooting – lobby your MP and parliamentary candidates

The points for lobbying and we have tried to cover the spread of interests in shooting.

1) Shooting is worth £2 billion (GVA) to the UK economy each year.

2) Shooting benefits UK society by being:-

· Economically valuable.
· Socially inclusive.
· Good for conservation and bio-diversity.

3) Armed criminals do not use licenced firearms to perpetrate their crimes.

4) Shooting enhances the UK’s global reputation by contributing to the medal tally in prestigious international competitions.

5) The EU recognises private firearms collectors as important repositories for national patrimony and heritage.

It does not hurt at all to let your local MP and candidates know that there are a LOT of shooters out there, a point which will not be missed in some of the more marginal constituencies.
