The celebration of the life of Terry took place on Saturday out in deepest Hampshire. Attending from HBSA were Maurice Kanarek, Alan Berlin, David Eadsworth and Allan Kirk. Over 150 people were crammed into his local village hall, and we heard a lot about his early days in Chiswick (CCF Armorer) then his 35 year career with IBM, learning and teaching new skills as the IT world grew. We also heard a lot about his vast knowledge of military history, firearms and engineering, Friday night in the pub(s) and his store of anecdotes.

Most HBSA members will remember him for pistol and 7(3) shooting, plus Wednesday rifle practice. He was diagnosed with lung cancer in late November and has left us far too early. The closing music was “Always look on the Bright Side” from the film ‘Life of Brian’ – typical Terry!
